Dedicated to House Music Club Icon Mr. Shelton Hayes
Featuring Thelma Houston, DJ Joaquin “Joe” Claussell, Elisabeth Withers, DJ Rich Medina, DJ Tee Mallory, and DJ Duce Martinez. A special Afro-Cuban drumming performance by ILU Aye-El Tambor del Mundo – The Drum of the World and Special Tribute to House music icon, Newark’s own Shelton Hayes, by “House Mother” Carolyn Byrd and music industry pioneer, John Brown. Live percussionists throughout the day featuring indigenous instruments from Brazil, West Africa, Peru, and India.

Mash Ups: a collaborative art series, new website launched
FOR IMMEDIATE RELEASE: ARTISTS MUEMA & LORIE LAUNCH A NEW WEBSITE IN SUPPORT OF THEIR COLLABORATIVE SERIES – MASH UPS!
Mash Ups: a collaborative art series by photographer Muema and painter Lorie Caval.
MASH UPS 1.0: Within the nightclub setting, Muema captures magical moments of expression – dancers, fleeting undulations, energetic expressions and physical/spatial relations within the room. The story captured within each frame, is then expounded upon by Caval, as she perceives and paints patterns of energy between the subjects. Lorie first begins with etchings which are then further accented with acrylic paint.
