New York deep house record label Nightchild Records has teamed up with Deeper Vibes to bring you a special series of podcasts that will feature Rissa and selected guests on monthly rotation. The first podcast was originally sub-titled The Spiritual Mix, a perfect name for the smooth track selection that comes together in the form of a beautiful, well-constructed DJ set.
Born and raised in what was once considered the mecca of house music, New York City, Rissa caught the music bug at a very early age. It was only in 2000 when Rissa discovered her home, a hole in the wall called Vinyl and a DJ named Danny Tenaglia. Rissa fell in love with everything about that place.. especially the music.
Inspired by the man who poured his heart and soul into his music, along with many others who did the same, Rissa began to collect records and learn how to DJ. Rissa’s first gig back in 2004 was at a small lounge on the lower east side and since then she has been lucky enough to have played some of the best venues in New York including Cielo, Love, Pacha, Rebel and PubIlic Assembly.
In August of 2007, Rissa started Nightchild Records with a close friend, the label has gone on to release over 20 EPs and continues to develop its sound and strive to bring quality music from talented, young up and coming producers around the globe.
